A big day this Friday for the World's most watched event, the upcoming 2006 Fifa World Cup.
2006? That's years away! It is, but the qualification fun has already started in some countries. The qualifying groups on Friday will be picked out, and each team will then know who they have to beat to get to the final 32 countries that can attend the finals. There are something like 156 countries that will be whittled down to the 32 that will get to play in Germany during the summer of 2006. Fingers crossed that England gets some easy teams...

On the USA side, I'm hoping for good things from some of the young players, like Landon Donovan, and maybe Freddy Adu will be ready to jump on the world stage at a Pele-esque starting age
