Coming up for air

QuickImage Category
Pretty much all of today apart from a couple of walks with Mandy who I've been dog sitting this weekend, and watching Bubba on Meet the Press, I have started the mammoth task of packing. Packing for me is a two step process, the first step is throwing out the stuff that it turns out I don't need anymore (I'm thinking those IBM payslips from 1988 can go), and then deciding which box something should go in. So far I've done one room and I'm already up to six boxes.

There have been some benefits to doing all this, I've come across some pictures that bring back fond memories, and I've also come across some old Lotus freebies (tchotsky's in the US) which when visiting Lotus office in other countries they would always give as gifts, best freebie find so far was a chronograph Lotus watch that was give to me in Dubai, still in it's box and never worn, I don't wear a watch anymore as they bug me too much when typing, so it's probably going to stay in the box until my next move. Found plenty other stuff too, R5, SmartSuite, eSuite, Notes Reporter all the classics. I found lots of paper with notes of one kind or another on, some with half written lyrics and others with product ideas, one piece of paper was from about 14 years ago where myself and Malcolm Days had written down a long list of ideas for Organizer add-ins, obviously neither of us ever did anything with it.

I came across a stash of postcards (thanks to the Europeans that always send the ones of women on the beach), and also a few letters and drawings that my nieces and nephews sent me when they were just learning to write, now they're just lazy and send e-mails instead.

I'm already looking forward to my next big find over the coming weeks...

Gravatar Image1 - Carl,

Be sure to poke holes in the boxes with the stuffed animals. They do need to breath you know.

Gravatar Image2 - Perhaps if you had submitted your Organizer ideas it would not have been cancelled?!

Gravatar Image3 - Organizer isn't cancelled, it's still part of SmartSuite There was an attempted management buy out of Organizer, IBM/Lotus were not interested. Shame really cos it on;y had 20mill users.
