I got the Blackberry RIM connected and configured and it's receiving and sending my mail like a charm, so I decided it was now time to get a Sametime Everyplace server running. Well here's the thing, I now have Sametime Everyplace running and even managed to connect to Sametime on my nasty Sprint phone, but I'll be buggered if I can get it to work with the Blackberry. I've put in a few calls to a few people so I hope to have it resolved in the next few days. It's close, but still no cigar.
