Another UKLUG write up and congratulations blog entry.
Category UKLUG
Last week saw the UKLUG event take place. I missed the first half of Ed Brill's keynote session as I was at the US Embassy for one of their interviews (can you really call it an interview if it lasts 45 seconds?). Anyway, I had an early appointment with the embassy so I was able to be back in time for the second half of Ed's presentations.
The event was held on Church of England property and I did feel a burning sensation as I walked through the doors. The event location was great, right next to Westminster Abbey, and had a great hall for the sponsors, and some large rooms for the presentations. As many others have said, a big hand of applause to all the organizers and speakers, I know Warren was not a well man for the days prior to the event and did amazingly well to get through the event itself.
I saw a few old Lotus faces (former and current) that I hadn't seen in many years, and it's always great to catch up with customers in person versus long distance IM conversations. I don't think I could do a better write up of the Friday night Curry than Bill did (it was really good), all I will say is that next time I ask a landlord for a curry house I'll be sure to throw in a price range.
I do now have my passport back from the US embassy and I still have a few days left in England, I'm currently working out if I can get to Paris to see a customer, but it looks like that might not be possible due to other commitments.
