For me, my most hated sound in the modern world is now....wait for it....
That irritating GSM phone - Speaker interaction you get, that click click, the speakers on my screens at home, which aren't even connect to anything obviously aren't shielded so they clickity click all day long. Then all those phone calls you have with people using their Polycom desktop speakerphones seam to pick up every GSM phone in the room.
This sound, displaced my previous most hated sound which is a laser printer that sounds just like Jessie throwing up when it flips the paper to print on the second side.

What DOES bother about it is it reminds that I've got a device in my pocket emitting pretty high-energy radio waves. That I'm told will have NO physiological effect on me whatsoever. Really.
