How can I run Lotus Sametime from a USB drive?

How can I run Lotus Sametime from a USB drive? This is a question I actually get asked quite a lot, the answer used to be as soon as IBM figures out a way. Now I have a much better answer, and the answer is MojoPac. MojoPac calls itself desktop virtualization software, which basically means you get a virtual windows machine that can be run of the USB drive when plugged into a Windows XP machine. Guess what, it works. If I load Mojopac I can see I have a C drive, but the C drive is a virtual drive, not my real c drive, and I can easily install Sametime onto that virtual C drive and all appears to work great. I haven't tried it, but I bet this is a great workaround for Notes 8 too until Nomad arrives for Notes 8. I tried it on a few machines that had never seen Sametime, I plugged it into the USB drive, doubled clicked on the mojo start file and voila I was in my virtual desktop with Sametime. The nice thing is when I unplug the device nothing is left on the host machine to indicate I was ever there.
This may sound crazy, but you can also install iTunes on it, so you can then manage your iPod from any windows XP machine with a USB connection. So you can use your iPod as the USB drive, and manage your iTunes songs on the same device with iTunes installed within the Mojopac desktop.

What real-world uses can people come up with for MojoPac ?

However, it's just for Basic. I seriously doubt that Standard will make it into Nomad. First of all, the performance would be pretty poor. Secondly, there are around 19,800 files in the Notes 8 install directory. While not a big percentage of those will not be written more than once, the average USB stick only gets around 500,000 writes.
Of course that all changes if you have the nomad install on an actual drive and not a thumb drive.
