2 - I knew it, Google are planning to release a web 2.0 water, the google map shows how the world will look when they steal all the water!

I really don't trust Google.

3 - Google Maps API use a different data set than Google Maps proper:

I found a similar problem using the very cool Gmaps Pedometer (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com) and their FAQ pointed to the above article.

4 - @3 Thanks Tim, I like that pedomoeter website although the UI isn't very intuitive, once you figure it out I like it.

5 - I just noticed this this morning too - we're in Tewksbury MA with a day to kill and decided to go to LLBean for this - Liz wants to Kayak and I am taking a flyfishing lesson. We just can't figure out where the water is!

7 - There are fish in the pond, and about a mile down the road is a trout river, basically, there is nothing but water and fish around me.

If you're heading back south from Maine give me a shot I'm not far from 95 so give me a shout.
