I am so going to do this when I get back from Lotusphere...

Alton Bay which is part of Lake Winnapasaukee (on golden pond fame), is a sea plane base in the summer, then in the winter when temperatures in these parts get mighty cold it freezes to a few feet thick and Alton Bay becomes an ice runway! So if I go and land there, I'll be able to log in my pilot log that I landed at a sea base in a land based plane

Talking of the cold, it has been pretty chilly here the last few days, with ice everywhere, this has proven interesting for one of our Indian developers who is visiting us for a few weeks and will be attending Lotusphere with us. I have yet to see him take his hat and his coat off, even in the office! I'm sure it's quite strange for people to see me in the office in a T-shirt standing next to Vivek in his wooly hat and coat, I'm sure if he could type with his gloves on he would be.

Gravatar Image1 - I belive Alton Bay has the only FAA registered "Ice Port" aka Ice Airport. There is an annual Flyin (February I think).

Gravatar Image2 - Your visit by Vivak reminds me of the Lotus Sales Meeting in Vienna when the Lotus Malaysia delegates had to be taken back to the hotel as they were suffering from the adverse effects of the cold during a treasure hunt around the city & no-one had thought to tell them to dress for cold weather - sadly they had no idea how cold it was & what was happening to them.

Gravatar Image6 - We had very cold weather last week and we are not expected to break the freexzing level most of this week so my prediction is that Alton Bay will open in a week. Let's see how clear is my crystal ball !
