Happy Birthday America

and Happy Anniversary to my parents, who today are celebrating 42 years together.

OK now onto Football aka Soccer. The first Quarter Final is played today with Germany meeting Italy. My hopes are on Germany, because if they go all the way I win the WorldCup-Pool. If Italy go all the way then my Dad wins, so fingers crossed they can pull it off.

Do I have any comments about England vs Portugal? Yes I do, but I couldn't put them in writing

1 - Carl, it's the Semi!!! Not Quarter Final. As with you most comments about Eng v Port will get censored, but all I can say is I would have prefered anyone but Ronaldo to get the winning penalty!!!

3 - Obviously with England out you've lost the plot. Quarter Finals wish it were we could have another go at Portugal

Mind you Huxley wants Portugal to win then he takes the prize

4 - Did they not cover the difference between quarters and semis in A Levels?

Sad to say, but it looked like the UK goalie was standing in cement during the penalty kicks!

5 - @4 I think they must have. I didn't do A levels as I was getting an American education at that point in New York

6 - @4 it's not the UK goalie, but the English goalie - big difference.

Personally, I think the problem laid at the feet of the penalty takers - what a joke. I could do better than that!
