1 - Well Carl, it is true....the granny lover is back.. thank god!!!!!

2 - Well, we'll see how soon they let him play. I'd imagine that Rooney would be extremely eager to hit the pitch as soon as he is allowed, but too soon would risk reinjuring, missing the Cup entirely, and a longer recoup. Tough call. If they hold him out until the round of 16, as is currently speculated, then that ought to give enough time.

Now as for who will WIN the cup, that will also be interesting. Personally, I think that even with the current low ranking, Germany will gain a lot of benefit from being at home and will win the whole thing. Being a yank, my emotional fave is the USA, but i can't see that being at all realistic for at least another cup or two.

And I would love to see Togo take a match or two.
