For people following my blog, and more specifically looking at the fuzzy photos I take with the cell phone, you may have been fooled into believing I was some where in the Austrian Alps, when in fact I was over on the west coast in a place called Leavenworth. Leavenworth must have been thought up by a couple of stoners in 60s as it's a themed town, where everything is built in the style of Bavarian Architecture. The hotel I stayed in even had a guy in leiderhosen play an alpine horn each morning.
I was out there for a friend's wedding, which went really well. The weather was fantastic, with a blue sky every day I was there. As a warm up to the wedding, most of the wedding party went white water rafting. I hadn't done this in a few years and it was a total blast, I only got thrown in once and it was a nice way of cooling off.
The scenery out west is really stunning, if anyone is looking for a great place to go hiking, then Leavenworth is a great location to get started from.
