It's Thursday and it's week 10!

QuickImage Category
OK it's week 10 of the diet, I have still been very good, and whilst in the Caymans I exercised A LOT! so a little disappointed with todays weigh in to find out that I hadn't lost much weight, which was surprising, as my belt had definitely loosened, so the only thing I can think is that I am much more "buffed" than before my trip, seriously though I do think that is it, the key thing is as I say every week, it's still going down so I don't really care, and I am definitely fitter than two weeks ago, plus I got to see some really really cool fish! So total weight loss to date is... 7.92% which I think is pretty respectable for 10 weeks, even if it isn't on my original target line.

So today as many of you know who read my blog regularly was the day my Mum was having her Corneal Transplant (if you're not squeamish and interested in knowing what goes on click here). I gave my Dad a call earlier to see how she's getting on and he says she's fine, so in case he forgets, I'd like to tell my Mum I love her (I'll get so many Brownie points for this) and thinking of her today.

Looking at those pictures it reminds me a lot of the procedure I had done for my LASIK surgery, which if any one ever wonders about that, was the best thing I ever had done, I swear it was like something out of Star Trek, the laser even had this sexy female voice that said things like "target acquired", "laser armed" and "firing", If I hadn't been there I never would have believed it.

Gravatar Image1 - I'll pass on your comments Carl. By the way Mum also had a new lens fitted.

Gravatar Image2 - Carl...how long ago did you have your Lasik surgery? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Gravatar Image3 - Carl,
- Congrats to you on the continued success with the weight-loss/health program. I've been doing a modified Atkins and have gotten more disciplined with exercise, and figure that as long as there's continued progress, I'm OK with being slower than I'd hoped. I FEEL great, and that's what I think is most important.
- Thanks for posting the links to surgery pics and the .avi ...That is SO KEWL! And I hadn't messed with divx. Wow! 20MB for a 58 minute video. Incredible.

Gravatar Image4 - If you're exercising a lot more, you can't go just by weight, as you will be putting on muscle, which weighs more than fat. Best thing to do is measure % of fat loss, which I think you can get done at a gym.

Gravatar Image5 - I think it's called your BMI - Body Mass Index...If I'm not correct.

Gravatar Image6 - OK Fat idea good, problem with that, I would have to go to the gym not happening.

Gayle, concerning the eyes, I had it done New Years 2000. I paid approx 5k for both eyes. I had it done by TLC Vision. I figured it was my eyes, so I wasn't going to skimp.

Gravatar Image7 - I have been contemplated the idea, but my eyes aren't that bad...and figure it's something I don't mind living with...for now. My "x" had lasik done a while ago (can't remember how long ago) for about $1200 or so an eye. (~$3k). I know the price around here has gone down dramatically for the same surgery. I think they are charging about $800-$900/eye.

Gravatar Image8 - Hi Carl
Best wishes to your mum and a speedy recovery BTW belated greetings, haven't spoken for ages - but love the blog
cheers
Stu

Gravatar Image9 - You had your eyes done in 2001 must have messed with your brain too
