How do you know if you're ready for that Sametime meeting?
Very often, you'll be ready for a Sametime meeting, and then the customer calls you with those famous lines "uh I can't see anything", this can typically be due to a few issues, firewalls, JVM version, lack of JVM. I'd been thinking about doing something for this ever since Lotus stopped shipping a tool with Sametime 1.5 that would do a test of visitors machines for readiness for Sametime.
Recently the topic came up again in the Business Partner forum, so I decided to get off my lazy bum and knock up the little test app. What I need now are a few people to hit the test page and let me know if they get any errors etc. You can find the page here
Sadly if you're accessing the internet through a Proxy, the network connection will always fail, this is because you need to have a signed applet to get that kind of access and I don't want to sign the applet for the test page, please respond with any comments. If all goes well, I'll be posting it for download on our website shortly.

Also, it said that my version of Sun JVM ( 1.4.2_05) was not compatible, but that works with my Sametime server (6.5.1) just fine. I'm assuming that's a test against Sametime 3.1 only?
Other than that, THANKS! Seems like a great app...
