How long should I expect a Sametime 8.5 install to take?

Category
These were some timings I recorded during the beta...

This was on a 2.8 GHz Quad Core, 4 Gb Ram, Windows 2003, all windows updates applied machine for the WAS components, and a windows 2003, 2 ghz 2gb ram machine for domino and sametime (pointing to an already existing LDAP server).   These times include filling out the prerequisites etc. for each install.

Installing the domino components took very little time, the Websphere/DB2 components took longer.

Gravatar Image1 - Nice work Carl, keep it coming!

Gravatar Image2 - Ok, now how long did it take you to install WAS?

And did you do the graphics in Approach Emoticon

Gravatar Image3 - Hi Carl,

How long to make it works after the 2:30 hours of installation. Configuring the DNS, Firewall and all those products must take some times?

Thanks

Gravatar Image4 - @3 you're crazy enough to want to get it to work through your firewall? What kind of crazy person are you?

@2 the installer installs WAS.

Gravatar Image5 - working my way through the full sametime load, entry is done, now to standard then to advanced.
Sorry I thought WAS had to get done first.
Is this why you said I will not like ST after a week?

Gravatar Image6 - @you'll find out why Keith.

Gravatar Image7 - Hi Again,

Our Sametime server is behind a firewall for security reason. The same thing for our clients. Maybe you refere to Sametime Proxy Server when you speek about not using firewall.

Anyway. Did it took you long to get all this setup up and running?
