The Lotus Foundations Server Viral video is out...

Category

The video is out, no idea if this is the first part and there are more to come.  Can someone explain the punch line to me, I don't get it.

Unfortunate that the mention of "replicating" relates to viruses, script should have used some other word like self cloning viruses or something IMHO.

Gravatar Image1 - um, I don't get it either. Viral? Its not even slightly contagious. Back to the drawing board guys.

Gravatar Image2 - Viral part is the confusion aspect of the video. ;)

And if you check lotusfoundations.com, you will see that its part of series.

and as time goes, you will see more 'freedom' that I can have for the videos ;)

Gravatar Image3 - Hey Bilal,

If MSFT can spend $10M and make a head-scratcher with Seifeld, then pull it and say that it was all part of the master plan, then why not IBM too (on a much lower budget I assume).

P.S. You're doing an awesome job in every *other* respect. Foundations rules and I'm implementing a customer next week (just not sending them the virus).

Gravatar Image4 - OK, this is a viral video because everyone keeps forwarding it with "can someone tell me what this has to do with LF ?"

Gravatar Image5 - Thanks for the kind words. The main aspect of Viral video is not to complete the full message. It was very hard to get traditional marketing folks to agree with me on this as the best viral video is the one where I don't even talk about the product and yet make you wonder about it.

Has anyone seen the cadbury viral ad? or the rayban glasses flying off the faces one?

From budget side of things, I wish I had $10 million, heck even 1/1000th of it would've been nice lol.

Emoticon

Gravatar Image6 - Well for me the same as to you guys. The clue of the viral is completly lost by me.

Its really a dumb viral IMHO. The Blond chick though (the one with glasses) is nice Emoticon

Gravatar Image7 - For a beginning of a sequel of short videos it was not so bad. I guess there will be part 2 and 3, otherwise it's just wasted time, money and idea.

Gravatar Image8 - a "marketing" viral video is only good if the product or idea is being discussed and spread. so this viral video is a "success" if the subject is "stupid people" ... I call it an unmitigated success.

Gravatar Image9 - Yeah, first releasing a crappy video, then after nobody cares, forwarding it to everyone, favoriting it with fake accounts on youtube and deleting negative comments and offending everyone who is against them. Yeah, good job IBM. Keep it up!
