WebDialogs continued

Mike Gotta writes up my WebDialogs thoughts better than I did

I had also missed the Siemens OpenScape announcement. It will be interesting to see if the other telephony partners IBM has appreciate this announcement. The amazing thing is, Siemens had been a huge Microsoft Partner, seriously they were so far up Microsoft's behind it was amazing, I think the guys at Siemens must have realized that Microsoft had pulled a Microsoft - DEC deal on them. ie, Microsoft got into all the DEC accounts, but DEC got nothing from it.

I have to say I also really agree with this article by Mike: Office Communications Server Launch Webcast Oct. 16., if it wasn't for IBM I very much doubt, Sametime would be anything like it is today, at a Customer Council Mike Rhodin even said "after getting competition from Microsoft, we have reinvested heavily in our Sametime technologies". I often day dream about where Sametime would have been today if IBM had been this committed to it through those dark years.

Very Much agree that SameTime was a 'sleeper' for many years. I think it was you who about 1,5 years ago posted the screenshots of the 5 previous versions whcih showed the UI / capability hardly changed.

Microsoft has taken up the challenge and more specific also saw the huge UC opportunity ...

This form of competition leads to faster and more intense innovation so its good for clients and also good for the competitive parties

I do wonder what IBM's plans with regards to telephony are ...

That was one of those posts that customers loved me fore and IBM hated me. The truth hurts I guess

I agree this is all good for the customer, who is after all what matters.
