Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Sorry I haven't written anything for so long, been busy with lots of things, and now I need to catch up on ye olde blog. It was quite funny, this morning when I logged on to IM, I got 4 IMs in the space of about 30 seconds asking me what was going on with the blog. Hhm where to start, well right now I am sitting in a hotel room in London, preparing for the European version of Collaboration University , last week the event was in Kansas City and was a big success with lots of positive feedback. I'm pleased with the sessions this year and I've focused them only on Sametime 7.5.1, which makes life much easier not having to worry about differences between versions. One of the most fun sessions I think is the top 5 Sametime hacks and programming tricks, where I show some undocumented changes you can make to things like the Sametime Meeting center, how to enable bots to send back pictures in Sametime 7.5.1, we build a simple bot that returns the latest stock chart when a user types in a stock symbol and other fun stuff. Don't forget that Ken Bisconti will be doing the keynote tomorrow and if you're not here you can watch it online here http://www.ustream.tv/channel/collaboration-university. We had a couple of issues the first time we did this with the UStream.tv server not handling the load, which they hopefully are prepared for this time around.

I see Matt White is planning a London Domino users pub visit, so I might see if I can get along to that, it would bad if I don't get there, it's literally a couple of hundred feet away from the hotel where I'm staying and CU is taking place.

Diet update, well remember my eleven steps? Well I have to fess up, the last few weeks I haven't been following them, and it has had a negative impact. This often happens when I do a diet, normally I would continue this downward trend, fortunately enough of you are supporting me and giving me crap that I will get back on track. Really I think whilst my diet is important, I also need to work on changing my priorities, I always tend to make work be my number 1 priority, which really is totally wrong, my health should always come as #1 and unfortunately I never do that, like never, I mean how much value will I be to work if I'm dead? Anyway, the things I have been breaking my rules on are breakfast, yep today was the first time I have had breakfast in a few weeks, but the biggest rule I have been missing is my steps, I have not been completing anything close to the steps I need to do. I was in NJ for a week, and actually I was better that week as I was able to use the hotel exercise room and walking machine, and I didn't have a commute to or from an office to contend with. So let's get the bad news out of the way with the updated weight check-in, and know that post Collab Uni I will be back 100% following the 11 steps...

Last logged weight: 318.4
This weeks weight (cough cough): 323.3 lbs
Four week weight loss: -4.9 lbs
Total weight loss: 60.7 lbs

So one of my observations during the diet is that if I pick up a 40lb bag of dog food, it's bloody heavy carrying that up and downstairs, and to think I was carrying that around all the time.

Anyway, other things I should mention, Viktor Krantz now has a blog, if you're doing anything with Domino and Dojo, or Quickr, be sure to bookmark it. Now if you're know Viktor, you'll know he's originally Swedish so as any Norwegian will tell you, he's a little slow so bare with him, Just kidding, Viktor for a Swed Viktor is very sharp.

A few people are asking me what I'm up to now that i've left Instant, in fact at the Kansas City Collaboration University, I was offered much alcohol by attendees where they wanted to get the scoop on why I left etc. So I haven't really formally announced what I am doing yet, until certain legal items are sorted out, but I can tell you that epilio will be playing a large part in my future...

Lots more stuff to write, and I will caught up soon!

Recovering Dieter ... I'm sure you can get back into the groove head in the right direction again. Keep up the fight !

new Website .... the fact that it is timing out should not be any indication should it ?

Gravatar Image2 - It would be great if you can make it to the beers on Thursday night but, having seen how hard work these conferences are to run it'll be understood if you miss it.

Matt
