but I have to say I think the 2012 Olympics logo is a pile of rubbish.

Tony Blair said: "When people see the new brand, we want them to be inspired to make a positive change in their life.", sorry but it doesn't do it for me.

UPDATE: It appears I am not alone, there is now an online petition to get rid of the logo.

Gravatar Image1 - I'm with you on this one, it's a complete waste of an oppotunity to sell London and the Olympics with a really catchy memorable logo. It's almost as if they had been given 6 months to come up with something and then suddenly remembered the evening before it was due and just knocked it up in 5 mins. Although give me 5 mins and I am sure I could have come up with something better!!!

Gravatar Image2 - To me it says 80s kids breakfast show, perhaps cos Seb Coe spent so much time on them it inlfuenced him. I could totally see this logo appearing behind Sarah Greene on Going Live.

Gravatar Image3 - heh... can't wait to see the "mascots"

Gravatar Image4 - looking at the logo (before reading the post) I thought it was for a "zoo" - perhaps I'm not that far off.

Gravatar Image5 - 400,000 quid for that!!? Someone got robbed!!

Oh, hang on a minute, that'd be the British tax-payer again I suppose....

Gravatar Image6 - Not so much written on the back of a fag packet - it IS a flattened out fag packet.

Gravatar Image7 - What a fab logo. ( Your in the wrong business Carl). In answer to #5 - Its OK as it was paid for by private money. That was the comment made by one of the selectors in the press.
Don't we live in a crazy world.

Gravatar Image8 - I like number 6! Working in the tobacco industry (yes I know but it pays the bills!!) Our secret is out, we have infiltrated the design company and made them chop up a fag packet and flatten it out. One thing though in comment 5, a scary fact coming up, to generate the £400,000 cost of the logo, it would only take 10 minutes to generate that much tax from cigarettes.

Gravatar Image9 - It looks kinda like the sculpture at the Columbus airport -- and probably cost about the same.

... inspiring positive change...?? ... like getting off my duff and getting some exercise instead of parking on the sofa and staring at the Games - and that logo?

Gravatar Image10 - Did you see the goatse one that the bbc had briefly on their site ?

Gravatar Image11 - The latest news is that the animated version of this logo on the TV has been inducing epileptic fits......
