oops, I didn't even realize this had been posted...I recently had a chat with Stowe Boyd in the lead up to the Collaborative Technologies 2006 event. One of the items we covered was Instant Messaging Etiquette, you may not agree with everything I say, but I think these are some important things to remember when you're using IM.

* "Instant" refers to the delivery. Not to the other person's ability to respond. Please bear in mind that they might just have been collared by their boss, had to dash away from their desk, or just be on the phone and not looking at their screen. Nine times out of ten, you'll get that almost-instant reply. But don't be offended on the tenth time...
