So the result was the correct result, but how the England team got there was so disappointing. Sven's management technique continues to push the boundaries of the most boring football to watch in the world. I find it embarrassing that tiny countries like Trinidad and Tobago and the Ivory Coast can play with such spirit and heart, yet the multi millionaire English "Stars" play with the same spirit as a group of people at a wake (before the booze) is opened.
In America this would probably be considered unpatriotic, but in England what I am about to say is never taken that way so I'll say it, if England suck as badly as they did on Saturday, then Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago are the two teams that deserve to go through from Group B.
In other World Cup news, today the USA will have their opening against the Czech republic. It should be a tough game for the USA and hopefully an entertaining game. My local pub is owned by a naturalized US citizen, who came from the Czech Republic who also played professional football there, so you can imagine where I'll probably be at noon today...
