Do you give your car a name?

Category
Not something like Mazda, or Cortina, you know stupid names, like Gerty or Bessie, sorry not stupid names, affectionate names. I was having a chat today with a friend and we were discussing car names, I was saying I have never named any of my cars, so being the generalist that I am, I decided that only girls or people with high estrogen levels name their cars. Complete the poll, and lets make the results scientific. Also if you want to share, post the names you've used for your car as a comment.

Gravatar Image2 - My car is Stephen. And a friend named her car Sterling. My car in high school was Sputter Puppy. A friend I work with, a guy, names his. He's got Ole Blue (a blue farm truck) and Ruby. Now, two of us are girls, so the theory holds there, but my other friend, I'm afraid, doesn't fit your criteria at all.

Gravatar Image3 - Hmmm. Debbie's comment reminds me that I know a guy in Yorkshire who owned a tractor named Speedy. And you don't get any more manly than Yorkshire, where they call a spade a f*#&$@g shovel.

Gravatar Image4 - My family owns a van that my friends have named "THE TANK" and a car "Magnus." I have a car that is reffered to as the "Blue Bullet" or just "Bullet" for short .I think using car names is great..it gives a bit of individuality!!

Gravatar Image5 - I've never named a car, but I've just bought a tasty little two seater and I want to give it a name.
I got caught speeding in it the other day so it's my "crazy bi*ch" at the moment but I dont want that to stick!

Gravatar Image7 - I named my first car "Maximilian" because to me it was worth "maximum a million". My second car I named "Star" and I used to say it was the "star of the road." Now I named my new car "Silver" just because that's its color (High ole Silver away, LOL).Emoticon

Gravatar Image9 - I just got my first car, a little red Chevy Cavalier. I considered Gren (short for Grenadine), before I decided I wanted a reference to my favorite TV show, Doctor Who. I messed around with Alonzo (Allons-y, Alonzo!) and Jellybaby (the Doctor's favorite candy), before settling on Billie, the actress who played my favorite companion (Billie Piper).

Previous family car names have included Old Rudy (junky red minivan), Adekegagwa, or Addie (Jeep Cherokee - the name is Cherokee for Spirit of Summer), and Carlos (a big, white, industrial van my dad used for his janitorial business).

Gravatar Image11 - i wanna give a sweet girly name for my car..its silver accent. can anyone please help me out???Emoticon

Gravatar Image12 - I have always named my cars starting with my 1964 Rambler Station Wagon, "Rose", but all of my other cars were either "Betsy" or "Dixie Bell". My husband's current car is "Linc" (Lincoln Navigator) but the old truck was "Hershey" because it was chocolate brown. I can't imagine not have a name for a car - how can you talk to them without properly addressing them?
