It's election year so let's start the conspiracy theories...

One for today, Osama Bin Laden has already been captured and the administration is keeping him hidden until a month before the election. They will then announce his capture, which will boost Bush's rating and distract people from being unemployed, and possibly win him a second term.

1 - I predict that the terror level alert will quite by coincidence be raised to orange (or magenta or maroon or whatever the second highest setting is) right after the Democratic National Convention -- and it'll stay there until the day after the election. We'll also hear lots more about "increased chatter" and a bunch of flights will be cancelled.

2 - A bit too difficult to pull off, IMHO. Remember, he's got a small army with him and Syria and Iran would be more than happy to help hide him.

I think that the Iraqi WMD are in Syria (yes, I believe they exist), and we know it and Bush will announce that we "found" them there shortly before the election.

3 - If they have captured him, I hope he put up a better fight than Saddam. We need to be sure that he run out of his cave brandishing a large knife, hopelessly outnumbered, calling the Americans "infidels". And if the GIs did kick the crap out of him, I hope they don't do a cover up... I wanna see the video.

Did you ever hear this story about when he lived in London and used to regularly go to see Arsenal play? The club actually issued a statement saying that he "wouldn't be welcome at Highbury in the future".
