Space 1999

Apparently George Bush is planning next week to announce plans to build a settlement on the moon and a manned trip to Mars. You never know we might be lucky enough that he will choose to move there, otherwise I think this is a pretty big waste of money. I would much rather see a form of transport that could get me to California in 2 hours, than having a few people live on a rock in space. Not that he has a budget problem or anything, but does he know how much space programs cost?
Talking of Mars, it can't be much colder than Boston right now, it was -20C here last night, and not much warmer during the day, I have various ways of describing how cold it gets here to folks back in England, yesterday it was "bogey freezing cold".
