Afternoon in London

Category
One of the reasons I have come back to Britain for the holiday's is that my passport expires in a couple of months, with my passport being full of American entry Visa's the last thing I want to see happen is my passport getting lost in the Christmas post, so today I took my eldest niece Bethany with me to London to get a new passport (Note to Mum and Dad if they read this, obviously I really came home to see the family and it had nothing to do with the passport).

So the deal with the passport is I take the old one along to the Passport Office in London, pay some money, hand in some photos and come back 4 hours later. So what do with my niece for 4 hours in London? Well, we decided to pretend to be American tourists, which basically means seeing as many sites as possible in as short a time as possible, a bit like CNN really, not really great detail, but on long enough to show the story happened, or in our case, get to a place, get some photographic evidence and then get on to the next place.

We managed to do, Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, I had not been on this as it was built long after I came to the states, I enjoyed it, in fact the scenery both outside and inside the Gondola was quite enjoyable, see blonde South African in pictures, I got her e-mail address, although I think she only gave it so that I would send her their picture. Then on to Piccadilly Circus, Regents Street Christmas lights and then the Christmas tree (that always used be shown on Blue Peter being delivered every year) at Trafalgar Square. Feel free to browse the pictures here, I'm pretty impressed at how still I stood for most of them, as many of them were taken in the dark, I really like the fountains at Trafalgar Square.

Oh and the person in most of the pictures is my just turned 13, niece Bethany, she is going to do a blog entry one of these days too.

Gravatar Image1 - they still show the delivery of the tree on Blue Peter - this year they even went to choose it in Norway!

Gravatar Image2 - London Eye is a must-do, and yes, that scenery was very nice
