The World's first subway/underground

QuickImage Category
The world's first underground was the London underground which was opened in 1863, the United State's first subway was the Boston T which is now part of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA which is then abbreviated again to the T), which includes, buses, commuter rail, subways, trams and all sorts. Compared to the London Underground, the MBTA is incredible value, for about $1.75 I can pretty much get anywhere within Boston, so when it makes sense I try and use it.

Recently when I was trying to figure out if it was possible to get from my house to the office by bus and train I came across that age old problem of public transport systems, which buses do I need to take, is it quicker to take bus A or bus B? If I got on at the next stop would it be quicker than getting on at the first stop etc. So what i've always wanted is a kind of AutoRoute for the Public transport system, low and behold today when I went to check on the schedule of buses into Boston I found a new option Trip Planning, this does exactly what I want, I put in the start address and end address and it does the rest!

When family comes to visit, I typically lend them my car so they can get themselves around, the last time my sister came with her family I was still driving my Audi TT, which isn't the most convenient car for moving around a family of 5 and myself (although in this picture you can see how much you can cram in), so they became big users of the T when they come over, I can't wait to show them this next time, it will save them loads of time, and make them even more independent.
