Dew claws, what are they good for?

Category

I came home Friday to discover small pools of blood around the house and Jessie not interested in food.  Pools of blood is bad enough, but Jessie not interested in food is just not possible, that's a big sign something is up.  It turns out Jessie had somehow managed to split one of her dew claws in two, it looked pretty disgusting,  I cleaned it up and bandaged it and took her to the vet first thing Saturday morning.  She had to be put under and the vet cut back the dew claw pretty much all the way, now the poor thing is limping about on three legs. I'm pleased to say she should be good in a few days and will have the bandage removed Friday.

Gravatar Image6 - Hi Jess -
I hope you are getting better quickly. Just between you and me, you should milk this for all it's worth. Humans always feel bad when we dogs get hurt and they will do just about everything to make you happy and playful again so this is your chance to get a softer bed or new toy or more treats. The trick it to look sad and hurt. Humans fall for that kind of stuff all the time.
