Wayne Rooney broke his metatarsal bone in his right foot during Manchester United's 3-0 defeat at Chelsea. Whilst this is a huge dissapointment for the England team and fans, this should not be the end of the world. If England needs Rooney to win the World Cup this summer, then we really don't deserve to win it. The team should be good enough and strong enough to compete with the loss of a player, even if it is a first class player like Rooney. If I was Sven, I would be trying to get my players jazzed by telling the press that yes whilst Rooney is a huge loss, we have a strong enough and good enough squad to win without him, that the depth of the team is good enough. Has he done this? No he's his usual boring self.
OK I'll get of my soapbox and remember it's only until the World Cup kicks off!
