Remembrance Day

QuickImage Category
In 1918 on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month World War I ended with the signing of an armistice. Since this day many nations have come to call it Remembrance day and Veterans day. On the closest Sunday to Remembrance day each year, Britain holds parades to thank the soldiers that were lost, and the surviving soldiers for their outstanding valour.

To the members, past and present of the armed forces I give you my personal thanks.

So when you see me blogging about how Dubby is a few cans short of a six pack, or how I believe that the war was a big mistake and started for personal gains, it is important not to confuse my feelings towards Bush or Blair as being the same towards the armed forces. When many soldiers are fighting a war that many of us and many of them believe was started with lies, it is important to remember that the troops were not the ones that made the decision to start a war. These brave folks are the ones taking the risks, doing the dirty work of others and putting their lives on the line, so my thoughts are also with you and for your safety each day.
