It's started...

So it has officially started, I'm at the 100% weight right now, weight loss is 0% (good start, right on target) Blood pressure ... well is that supposed to be as high as your cholesterol? My gorging in preparation over the last few days has really helped, my bathroom scales were suffering from video camera syndrome this morning, in that they added on another 10lbs, anyway that will soon be gone, it really has started, so now the exercise and healthy eating regime kicks in, first thing that will be different today is that I'll have some breakfast, normally I am very bad and I don't eat breakfast, supposedly the most important meal of the day, so that will have to change. I'd like to say I'm cutting out tea and coffee, but I don't really drink either so that would be telling a big porky. I will be cutting out pop (soda), so that will actually be a challenge, I am sure the Poland Springs man that brings the bottled water to my house will wonder what's going on when he actually has to replace the bottles for a change.
To John Barrow, who has started of the morning with temptation by mentioning Boca Grande in response to one of my earlier blog entries...May you be cursed to a life of sandy beaches (don't worry this really is a curse to him).

You didn't take my advice on the Atkins (low carb) approach, did you? Way too much sugar in an apple. Have a carrot.
Trust me. Have a moderate amount of carbs with breakfast, live the rest of the time entirely on fillet steak, smoked salmon, cheese, eggs and so on. Be prepared to feel a bit odd for a day or two until ketosis kicks in properly.
Then watch in amazement as the pounds fall off.
Worked for me. In fact my wife has started to try and force feed me chips to put a few pounds back on (I think she is worried that I will weigh less than here by the time I am done).

So far, according the Ketostix no where near Ketosis.
I am trying to find a website that lists the veggies and fruit that are low carb etc. Also I think there are some nuts that are better than others?

A blonde is terribly overweight, so her doctor put her on a
diet. "I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day,
and repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you,
you'll have lost at least 5 pounds."
When the blonde returned, she shocked the doctor by losing
nearly 20 pounds. "Why, that's amazing!" the doctor said, "Did
you follow my instructions?" The blonde nodded... "I'll tell you
though, I thought I was going to drop dead that 3rd day." "From
hunger, you mean?", asked the doctor." "No, from skipping."

I typically drink breakfast and lunch (Keto Shake http://www.ketofoods.com/ezstore123/DTProductList.asp) along with a coffee, and then eat a semi-low carb dinner...meaning I'll allow myself the occassional glass of wine or a beer or some rice or whatever. And I'll hit the treadmill or the weights for a half hour or so most days. This has been pretty easy to stick with. Unlike some folks, however, I never have noticed any evidence of ketosis, which was a bit dissappointing. The fat came off, however, so that was the main thing.
