The most irritating thing about the IBM.com website

Category
So what is the thing I find most unexceptional about the IBM website, some might think it's the terrible UI they have for finding software to download, or maybe the way that you're always logging in with the same ID and password in different places, perhaps you just find the out of date information irritating.  For me it's actually none of those (although they are all very irritating), no for me the most irritating thing about the IBM website is this single check box:

IBMpleaseChange

Pretty much every time you interact with the IBM website, downloading software, signing a form, submitting a comment about a problem with an IBM.com webpage it will prompt you at some point with a form of your name and address, that you confirm every time, and you have to remember, every time to check that box, otherwise IBM is able to use your submitted  details with whomever they want.

Now it's bad enough that IBM.com never remembers this selection, the real pain is that the default value should be for NOTsubmitting my details to others, and to be consistent with the rest of the web, it should be unchecked to NOT share and checked to share.

It's almost like IBM wants to trick us into forgetting to check it.  So if like me, you find this irritating put a comment sharing you irritation.  Perhaps if enough of us say something they might pay attention to their unexceptional web experience..

Gravatar Image1 - Irritating? Yes. The "most" irritating about ibm.com? Oh, there's a list somewhere around here......

;)

Gravatar Image2 - That is on the list, but number 1 still is having to login multiple times, with multiple ids and passwords.
