The Exchange team is looking for feedback on future Exchange development...
The Exchange product group is investigating possible technologies we could use in future releases of management tools. One potential technology we could use is Silverlight; this would provide the ability to offer rich management features in a web-based interface, but would require that Silverlight be installed on PCs that were used to run those web-based tools.

Was discussing this with some developers wanting to use Silverlight in a new business application:
- why? because it's cool
- what's the business case? er... there isn't one
That's the problem: Silverlight gives cool UIs, but these don't matter enough in the business app environment to justify the additional complexity.
In the Internet space, the UI has more justification, but most of your users will only get the downgraded UI because they can't install it:
- either because they're on a business computer and can't (no admin rights)
- or because they're not technical enough to know how to
So until Silverlight is part of the OS or a widely-used app such as Outlook/OWA, it's at a bit of a dead-end!
