Gravatar Image1 - Carl, one thing which could be important for the stats is, that some guys are still not on domino or notes 8 and are unable to use the embedded client. I think if everyone would be using already notes 8.x then the embedded client would even have more users and the connect client less.

Gravatar Image2 - @1 Yeah. Personally, even if I am using Notes 8.x I tend to still use the standalone client, and probably will do until at least until the client in Notes is on a different thread. There are too many times when I cannot respond to an IM because I have some other dialog or message displayed in Notes.

Gravatar Image3 - I now use the integrated ST client in Notes 8.5 more and more. Im glad it doesn't wipe my settings when I switch ID and switch regions.

However, It's not perfect yet. I'd like to have only 1 identity in sametime, regardless of the ID I'm using or region i'm in (dev/prep/prod)

Further, the integrated client really needs its own threads.

Gravatar Image4 - I really like the embbedded client, the presence awareness in my e-mail and this kind of stuff. But I hate when I am trying to chat with someone and have to follow a doclink or open a database... separete threads would really make things easier.

And, about the right double click: yes I use it. But, I use notes since 1995, on R3...

Gravatar Image5 - We are still big fans of the standalone client. Sametime is a core - vital application for us, and people want it available even when Lotus Notes is not running. No matter what application you are in, the standalone is quick and easy to get to. You don't have to maximize a big Notes client to use it.

We would love to use the standalone client AND have some of the embedded features in mail views, though when you run both there still are some inconsistences.

Gravatar Image6 - <rant> I'm very glad that my department's recent forced upgrade to Lotus Notes 8.0.2 didn't wipe out my SameTime 7.5.1 stand-alone client. The embedded ST client is AWFUL! It doesn't have half the menu options of the stand-alone client, you can't pull up the app from clicking an icon on the task bar, there's no apparent way to control chat windows popping up on top of whatever else you're doing (un-checking that option does NOT help), and the contact list takes up too much room on the LN page when you're looking at it that way. I DO like the fact that you can see at a glance in LN when someone who wrote a letter to you is online, but that's about the end of the advantages, in my book. Thanks for your time, I feel much better now. Emoticon </rant>
