What happened to those synced Lotus releases from IBM?

Category

Remember when IBM told us all that from now on they would sync the release of Domino and it's companion products?  Whatever happened to that?  Sametime doesn't currently have a release that can run on Domino 8.5 (let alone support internet site documents), Sametime 8.5 will support Domino 8.5 and that will most likely ship close to a year after Domino 8.5 shipped.

To be honest, I would rather have had a Sametime that supported internet site documents on Domino servers whilst we're waiting.  That issue is addressed in Sametime 8.5 by the way, as the meeting components no longer run on Domino so issue solved.

Gravatar Image1 - That is a bummer. Just saw today on PL that Sametime is not supported on Domino 8.5.

Another pain in the butt is the fact I need to reinstall sametime on AIX when upgrading from Domino 703 to 802

Gravatar Image2 - I am running Limited Use on 8.5 with Internet Site Documents enabled. Maybe not supported but it works for me. I think the talk about synced releases came up just once and did not last long. Perhaps it needs another billion $ to make it happen. Anyway, I have no customers with active full Sametime licenses (which does not mean that nobody uses Sametime).
