What a night...
Category Diversity
This morning I am reminded of two things. The first was a few years ago when I was on diversity training at Lotus, really it should have been called politically correct thinking training but that isn't my point, at one point during the training course, a young African-American woman explained that she had no opportunities in America as she was black, and that all the important positions in government were held by white people. Whilst I didn't argue with her about all the important positions statement, I did call her on the statement that she had no opportunities, I asked her, if when she was a little girl she believed at some point she could be President, she said yes indeed she did but as she got older that changed. I then explained to her the difference in expectations she had growing up to the expectations I had growing up. The minute I was born, I knew I could not be King or Queen of England, no way, no how, couldn't happen. Today in America Obama has proven that yes indeed, any American Citizen can become president. Congratulations America!
The second thing I remember is from the day after the Democratic convention 4 years ago, when Peyton said "I think he could be the next democratic President" I obviously scoffed with a comment like "No way would right ring American's vote for a Black guy." Glad to see Peyton was right.

Not me or Arnold !! 2 years of HS in US and I remember at least that much - Constituion (I believe = I'm sure Richard or others will correct me if I'm wrong) says only US citizens born in US can become President !! Not a problem for me but I understand there is a movement on behalf of Arnold to change the Constituion.
It was indeed an unbelievable evening !!

"When I was a child, I believed that anybody could become president. Now I know it."
