Does the American constitution call Muslims out as some kind of evil?

Category

Can anyone else see a contradiction in a post like this?

Obama has always scared me with his radical Muslim upbringing, while growing up in a Muslim country, and then all the socialist in his family ,that should scare the crap out of everyone in America. He has also spent entirely to much time quality time with terrorist of the state, racist and hate mongers who don’t like this country at all and don’t like the principals behind THE CONSTITUTION.

Isn't the whole point of America, that you're free to believe whatever religion you wish to believe? Isn't that why people came here, to avoid religious persecution?  Wouldn't a statement like this, actually make you un-American?

Gravatar Image2 - I completely agree Carl. Blogged something pretty similar to this earlier today myself.

Muslim should NOT be used as a derogatory statement. People are using this as a weapon, which by America's very nature it shouldn't be.

First, Obama didn't have a radical Islamic upbringing. The school the reference that he attended briefly was fairly mainstream even by our standards in the US.

Second, being Muslim is not equal to being a terrorist or supporting terrorism. Most Muslims that I know consider those fundamentalists who claim a Muslim belief system to be grossly distorting their faith.

Third, most of the outlets that spew this crap know both of these things, and do it anyway because it stirs up the rabble.

Gravatar Image4 - I wonder where that came from... Emoticon

Gravatar Image5 - I love that Colin Powell actually called these people out. He said the almost right answer to people who say Obama is a Muslim is, "no, he's been a Christian for 20 years". But the really right answer is, "so what if he is?" The true contradiction I see in the opinion you quoted is that they're railing against hate, racism and fear while simultaneously promoting each: "that should scare the crap out of everyone"... in other words, they wish people were more afraid. That is precisely the goal of those we label as terrorists. If we don't like the people who try to make us afraid, then, shouldn't our goal be to make each other... less afraid? Instead, the "patriots" among us mock hope and foster fear. I truly do not understand that mentality.

Gravatar Image6 - Keep writing stuff like that and next time say something nice about the Arabs, we might need to work in the Gulf.

Gravatar Image7 - Looking back at this, it may be one of the most transparently moronic things I've ever read.

Gravatar Image8 - Interestingly, the place I originally took this quote from has now removed their entire entry.
