For those that have been in the Lotus world for a long time, you will probably have come across Ian White at some point (Ian's not a shy person so I can pretty much guarantee he's introdcued himself to you). Ian goes back to cc:Mail days and has been doing Collaboration for longer than moster Gen Yers have existed. Most recently you may have come across Ian on the blog he shares with Michael Chapman-Pincher at Computer Weekly in the UK, Collaboration technology 2.0.
Those of you reading Ian's blog, may have noticed Ian making some some references of a move to Microsoft, yes it's true Ian is now a Microsoft employee. I consider Ian a longtime friend, and like many other longtime friends in Lotus land, Ian has chosen to work for Microsoft. I know a few other's find it hard to stay friends with people who go to Microsoft, for me I have no issue with it at all. Microsoft is just another employer, the person hasn't changed they're still a friend regardless of who they work for, so Ian, I would like to wish you the best of luck and if you're in Beverly give me a shout!

I saw his post but wasn't sure if he was contracting. A full time paid up member of Microsoft then? It's not a complete surprise.
Knowing Ian I'm sure he'll do alright.
