Don't type, swype!

Category

A new product aims to change the way we type on touch screen devices.  Swype uses the motion of dragging across the keys on the screen, virsus having to click on the keys.  Swype was developed by founders Cliff Kushler and Randy Marsde, Cliff knows a thing or two about text entry on mobile devices, he co-invented T9, the predictive text entry system used on about 2.4 billion cell phones!

The following swype path would create the would "quick"

Certainly looks interesting, especially if it works as well as the demo video.

Gravatar Image1 - Seems interesting for small screens, where you can't really type, but on larger screens, I don't see how going from 10 fingers to 1 would be faster. I guess it would make all the hunt & peck typers happy though.

Gravatar Image2 - I can see it being faster on any touchscreen when using the stylus. Even with 10 fingers, it was hard getting used to typing on the screen
