There are very few shows on TV that I watch live as they go out, Dexter is one of them.  September 28th Dexter returns in the all new Season 3...

Sue's stepsister's dog used to wait until they were alone in the house at night then suddenly jump to its feet and stare fixedly at the door, tense, head up, ears cocked, then slowly move towards it....

There never was anything there. I think the dog was just entertaining himself.
