Sametime 8.0.1 Connect Web API modifies the buddylist

Just noticed this funny as I use the Sametime Connect Web API a bit more. It appears that if you use the API it changes the buddylist entry for the person you are watching to their shortname. Switching between their short name and long name, no longer makes any different. Watch Wassim's name in this video as the webpage is refreshed to retrieve his status. You'll see his buddylist username is changed.
I also found that if I remove a person from my buddylist whose status I have in a page using the web API, and then add them back to the Sametime Connect client, their status is shown as offline in the connect client even though they are logged on. Similarly, I can log off from Sametime and sometimes the web browser still shows the awareness for people, however if I click on them it does nothing, and if a person being followed on the web page changes their status it doesn't change.
