Microsoft Outlook plug-in playing catchup to Notes

Category

Microsoft will soon have a plugin for Outlook that provides users with their Office Communications Server in the Outlook client.

It still won't provide the plug-in capability to the level that Sametime offers today.

I saw this feature coming by a while ago and really wondered why someone created it. It's cool to see that it's possible and you could call it 'playing catch up' for copying a Notes 8 feature.

Personally I am not in favout=r at all for using 1 "uberclient". I hate portals with 1000+1 features and don't get the Notes 8 UI swamped with funtions at all ...

Outloook 2007 has presence integrated already and IO do not want my company buddylist in Outlook.

I really like the way Microsoft has implemented seamless movements between the various communication functions (start an IM from Outlook going into Communicator and from there start a conference call, videocall or LIiveMeeting for example).
Stuff I use on a regular basis ...
