Remember when ascii characters moving up and down were cool?

It wasn't that long ago that the latest and greatest games consisted of nothing more than a few ascii characters moving around on a screen and we played those games for months. It amazes me how far graphics have come and how realistic games now look.
I shot a very rough video with my phone (so really bad quality ) of me doing a lap somewhere in the Swiss Alps on the Grand Turismo 5 HighDef PS3 demo . This was running in full 1080p resolution, no stutters, no flicking amazing stuff.
