Toshiba HD-DVD player - $98

Category

Walmart had on sale a Toshiba HD-DVD player for $98 this morning.  If you were lucky enough to get one  (I stopped on the way to work and managed to get one) don't forget that Toshiba also has a "Get 5 Free HD DVDs for free" offer running at the moment.  http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/pdf/rebates/13780.pdf  So fo $98 bucks I got a HD DVD player and 5 HD DVDs.  Currently I play BluRay dvds through my PS3, this way at least I'm protected for a while if HD DVD starts to win the format competition.  This player isn't 1080p but does support 1080i.

Gravatar Image1 - WOW another new toy to play with! This must be similar to the E1 model in the UK except the price!!! Lowest in UK is £179 - a bit of a difference. Its had excellent reviews though. Let the world know what its like especially in upscaling DVDs

Gravatar Image2 - Grrrr. I missed out on that one. Called several Walmart's as well as BestBuy (who was running the same promo). I saw this hit CNet and started calling, but was too late. I figure that will that price, HD DVD players should have price points close to that again.

At least I hope so.
