Looking for help on two items...

Category
1) I'm looking for a regular size Car Radio, but I want it to take the iPod along the lines of an 8-Track tape. So I could shove the ipod into it bottom first and it would make the connections etc. and stick out just a bit so I could pull it back out, so just like an 8-track tape. I don't want to bother with wires or FM transmitters (mine always seems to get overwhelmed by the person driving next to me). So an all in one unit that provides the buttons and screen for controlling the ipod would be great for me. Does anything like this exist?

2) Does anyone in the New England area have any contacts for Patriot tickets? Myself and a friend would really like to go to a game (I can dump the friend) and trying to get these is as hard as getting a golden ticket in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Gravatar Image1 - Not seen an ipod docking station for a car yet. In the interim you could use the connector that was brought out to connect a portable CD player to the car radio via the Tape Recorder slot. Remember them?

Gravatar Image2 - Carl, this is not exactly what you mentioned but it might work for you:

Gravatar Image3 - Carl,
Who needs an IPod!
I have a Blaupunkt DAB (Digital) Radio in my car. Worth every penny, it also has an SD card slot along with a CD drive, so I can take music, or more usually podcasts (yes I am that sad) to listen to whilst driving. When else do you get the time to listen to them with 2 small children?
But most importantly is the DAB tuner, with so many good digital radio stations available over here it is fantastic. This is one area (I cant think of many others in the technology field) where the UK leads the US.

If you must have it Blaupunkt do a proper connection kit for their head units with a mount, but thats the best I have seen.

Other alternative is Plug-in FM Car Audio Transmitter for iPod

Hope that helps,

Gravatar Image4 - @1 Dad, that's great if you car has a cassette deck, but totally useless if you don't. I don't

@2 Looks good, sadly not one for my car manufacturer.

@3 I have an FM Transmitter already, a couple actually, they never seem strong enough. I like the Blaupunkt, nice kit.

Gravatar Image5 - Carl, one of the guys who started the business has a blog, a while back he was calling for help, they were willing to work with customers in order to suport more car manufacturers and models. They were offering a good deal.

Gravatar Image6 - the best option I can find would be one of the MFG specific "interface" modules.

It all depends on my auto MFG, year, radio features, etc. so finding the right one is a PITA.

You can Google for these. Here is an example link. Once you find if one exists, then shop around.

Gravatar Image7 - @6 Love the idea. Sadly my radio is crap has no aux option. So I would need to change the radio anyway.
