Buzzing the islands of Maine

Category
This weekend I flew myself and Jessie up to the islands of the Maine coast to buzz a friends house. Their house is pretty interesting, it's on an island with no electricity, no roads, no ferry and if they're lucky cell phone reception when the wind blows in the right direction, so it's pretty remote. There are a lot of islands of the Maine coast, I'm not sure how many exactly, but there are a lot. The weather was warm and it wasn't too bumpy, it was a little hazy with the biggest visibility blocker being a layer of pollen at about 7 thousand feet, just hanging there.

After buzzing (aka responsibly flying over) my friends house, I headed to their nearest airfield, Wiscasset where they had a nice little airstrip with dog friendly staff. I waited for my friend to come along, where I took them up so they could then get some pictures of their place. I flew roughly for 3 hours and had a great time.

Gravatar Image1 - What kind of a friend lives in a remote location and *doesn't* have a landing strip for you ?!

PS - I thought you were going to be painting all weekend ?

Gravatar Image2 - I agree very selfish not having a strip. I had to get a break from the paint fumes, flying seemed like the perfect answer
