Microsoft prepares 'Tahiti' a new collaboration service aimed at consumers and businesses
Category None
Think of it as Sametime Instant Meetings. Participants will be able to exchange handouts without e-mailing them to one another and the service is intended to work across firewalls. Tahiti will require users to sign on via a Windows Live ID.

Your conclusion is not quite right.
I look at SameTime Instant Meetings as a solution targetted at business users in the SME+ segment.
You should compare this with the 'Meet Now' function of Microsoft Office LiveMeeting.
Tahity is targetted at users of Windows Live Messenger, which is a consulmer proposition and also targets the the smaller organisations in the SME market, hence the Office Live strategy.
As far as I know, Tahiti is 'powered by' the LiveMeeting platform.
I would say this is another example of Microsoft's ability to leverage Enterprise solutions in the consumer / SME market and vice versa ...
