Has Flickr performance progressively got worse since Yahoo purchased them?

Category
I have actually found a few funnies with Flickr lately.
  1. This is really weird, but if I use the advanced AJAX features of Flickr it crashes my router
  2. It has got really slow displaying pictures, it used to be really snappy

Has anyone else experienced any issues like this?

Gravatar Image1 - I have noticed that it's generally slower than it was, but I'd always put this down to the service becoming more and more popular... I wouldn't necessarily link it with the Yahoo! purchase. Flickr hasn't crashed anything for me though; that's rough!

Gravatar Image2 - Flickr never crashed anything here but I notice the slow performance displaying pictures for a long time now. It seems to have started the time flickr got purchased by Yahoo - but it's not necessarily caused by it.

There are also some threads in the flickr forums about this issue. Common explanations are backbone routing issues (especially in Europe) or Firefox settings. I wonder why those don't affect other image hosting sites.

Gravatar Image3 - I have a stable PC running XP with firefox, no crashes on flickr. However I don't use flickr much these days because of the lack in performance. The degeneration started before Yahoo purchased them and is just getting worser for each month.
