Win OS/2 on Mac?

Category
Looking at Jake's post about running Windows Apps on the Mac using Paralells I can't help but be reminded of WinOS/2 from a few years back, where you could run a windows App in OS/2 in it's own VM where it would also show just the window of the app you were working on etc.

Gravatar Image1 - Of course, back then people said it was a critical mistake on IBM's part, because while it was a great technical feat for the time, it removed most of the incentive for Windows developers to port applications to OS/2, thus ensuring that all applications would be written for Windows. I am not sure why or how the logic is different now, but it is interesting to think back on.

Gravatar Image2 - This is a totally amazing piece of software, definitely has that win-os2 feel about (only way more stable).

Just imagine if Expeditor had the same coherence windowing option.

Gravatar Image3 - Hey - you can still run OS/2 using Virtual PC. And I know of a top-ten UK insurance firm who STILL have 300+ PC's configured with OS/2 and Notes v4.5 client for a critical application.... In Production!

(All talking quite happily to a v6.5 server backbone. Just *dont* use policies....)

Scary, eh ?
