Irritating clicking sound when Sametime chat windows appear

Category
You may have noticed that Sametime clicks when you open a chat window, or someone starts a chat window . This is the same irritating click that IE has. This is because Sametime is using IE to render the Rich Text area. Here's how you can turn the sound off for both IE and Sametime.
  • Open Windows Control Panel
  • Open Sounds and Audio Devices
  • Click on the Sounds tab
  • In the program events, scroll down to Windows Explorer and select Start Navigation
  • Set it's Sounds to (None)
Voilá no more irritating clicking from Sametime or IE.
