Sametime 7.5 Cumulative Fix Pack (CF1) Now available

Category
Lotus Sametime 7.5 CF1 contains important fixes and is highly recommended for all Sametime 7.5 installations. This package is required for customers who plan to implement the Sametime RTC Gateway or the Sametime Mobile Client.

If you're looking to deploy Sametime 7.5, you'll want to use this as your base installation.

Further details can be found here:

Sadly the technote referenced on how to download it returnsDocument not found, and I can't see it on the passport download site.
Update: The Sametime 7.5 CF1 download link now works.

So here's a couple of question I don't yet know the answer to:
Sametime 7.5 has the ability to push updates to end users, can it push down the new CF1 client to users, or do they still need to do an install of CF1?
What happens to already installed 3rd Party plugins when the Sametime 7.5 CF1 client is installed?

When I know i'll update here.

Gravatar Image1 - I'm afraid that you cannot use the Update site to update to CF1. I gather that the hope is to support this in a future version of Sametime but until that version a full reinstall is required. I think is has to do with updating the JVM intself not being possible at this stage.

Gravatar Image2 - I had the same questions and here is what I got from Lotus Sametime Support for my questions:
1. Is there a way to push the install to users? No, there is not. They will need to visit the stcenter.nsf homepage and re-download the client. There is no need to uninstall the Gold client if your users have already installed it. There is also a silent installer, but this will not help you push anything to your users.
2. What happens to plugins? In my test, the plugins do not seem to be persistent. In other words, your users will need to download the plugins again for their client. I am not sure if it will keep the specific configurations for the plugin, which may be pulled in again after the update, I think that depends more on how the plugin is written.
3. Is there a documented way to use the Eclipse Update Manager? As described in my first answer, the only documented way to get users to upgrade is to download from stcenter.nsf or use the silent installer.

Gravatar Image3 - @2.2 Yep I think because they install the client to a different directory you have to re-install the plugins. Sadly I had already taken the defaults not realizing they had changed before it was too late to change the install directory to the old director.

Gravatar Image4 - @2, there is a documented way to use the updater, I ahve used it successfully in tests and preparing for some slides, but this update itself was not packaged for it they way they put it out there.
