Has anyone with XSeries Server experience ever seen this?

At the weekend I put some more memory into an old IBM xSeries 350 (8652). This took it past the 4Gb limit imposed on Windows, so I added the /PAE switch to the boot.ini. All was good, the machine powered on and it could see 8Gb of memory. Sadly, with the /PAE option the built-in network card driver seemed to have issues. I reinstalled the network driver from IBM.com and still the same issue.
I am running Windows 2003 Advanced Server, although I think IBM might recommend Windows 2000 Server, maybe I should downgrade?
